Day 12: Pray for your husband as a Dad

Pray for your husband to be a godly example for your children.  Pray against discouragement of that high calling!  Pray that he would have patience in dealing with your children, and he would use teachable moments.  Pray for him to have wisdom with those teachable moments.  Pray that he would not just “talk the talk, but would walk the walk” as well.  Pray for his love of God to increase and be a reflection on his children.  Pray that the Lord would cover those areas that your husband feels inadequate.  Pray for a filling of the Holy Spirit, that he would be led by God and not his own strength.  Pray that as he guides and teaches them that he wouldn’t be overbearing or exasperating.  Pray that he would lovingly lead them and teach them through the Word of God.  Pray for your husband for those times of discipline, that he would discipline and teach not out of anger, but love.  Pray that he would read and grow more in God’s Word, so that he may share that with your children.  Pray that the Lord would heal any wounds in your husband’s heart from his childhood, and it wouldn’t be brought into his fatherhood.  Pray that he would give himself grace, and would be humble to repent and ask for forgiveness when he does fail.  Pray for your children to honor your husband as their father.
