30 Days of Praying for Your Husband; Day 19 Pray for His Strongholds

Praying for Your Husband; Day 1-18

Day 19: Praying for His Strongholds

Whether it’s drugs or alcohol, lust or pornography, gambling or excessive money spending, or any other destructive temptations, our husband’s need prayer over these areas.  Pray if he is struggling with anything specific, and against any temptation or tendency toward a stronghold.  Pray that it would not have power over him and he would be delivered from anything that has overtaken his heart. Pray for the Holy Spirit to fill his heart where he is trying to fill with other things.  Pray for strength in his weakness.  Pray that he would call on the Lord for strength to stay away from circumstances and people that lure him into destructive behavior.  Pray for humbleness in your husband to admit and ask for help when needed.  Pray that your husband would not lean on his own understanding, but would acknowledge the Lord.  Pray for patience and against discouragement if deliverance isn’t immediate.  Pray for endurance until he is set free.  Pray against any temptation and pray for him to continue to seek God’s word for guidance.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”    2 Corinthians 10:3-5

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—”    Ephesians 6:13-18

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”                          1 Corinthians 10:13

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”      Romans 12:2

“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;  My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;  My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.  I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised;  So shall I be saved from my enemies.”    Psalm 18:2-3

He sent from above, He took me;  He drew me out of many waters.  He delivered me from my strong enemy,  From those who hated me,  For they were too strong for me.  They confronted me in the day of my calamity,  But the LORD was my support.”   Psalm 18:16-19

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,  against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”     Ephesians 6:12

Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”   Psalm 50:15

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free,fn and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage”    Galatians 5:1
