Food for thought….a foolish man

My friend Deb sent this to me yesterday, I loved it and wanted to share, it ministered to me because often times I am stubborn and think that my way is “best”, and oh how I have lived and learned….

“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and beat on the house; and it fell.  And great was it’s fall” Matthew 7:26-27

Great was its fall…ouch!

Way too often our flesh tries to fool us into thinking that we know what’s best.  Doing things our own way will ultimately lead to hurt and paid.

God laid out many stories in the Bible to direct our steps, to keep us from falling! Obedience is key.  We are accountable for the choices that we make.  Wisdom and obedience go hand in hand, as do foolishness and disobedience.  God works all things to the good for those who love Him and choose to obey.

Proverbs 16:9- A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord direct his steps.

God knows the desires of our heart.  Let’s surrender our steps to Him as we choose to have a house that is built on the Rock!!
