Food for thought….Carrying your burdens

So often we as women try to mend things, we try to fix things, talk things through, build bridges, work things out.  It’s part of our nature.  Sometimes, we grow weary along the way.  I sure do.  I let the fights, trials, disagreements, and hardships in life stress me out, not only my own but other people’s as well.

This morning as I was praying and seeking God, I was asking Him to mend a certain situation.  A situation that I have been burdened and stressed about for months.  As I was praying this I thought and read the scripture “Come unto me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” Matthew 11:28-29

Just to type that scripture makes it feel like I am breathing a breath of fresh air.  You see sisters, we get so burdened by these situations that we are trying to mend and work out.  God wants us to leave them at His feet, casting all of our burdens on him and letting Him lead us  “Cast all your cares on Him, for he cares for you.” .  It is then that you will find rest, and peace.  We carry burdens that we are not meant to carry.  Whatever you are carrying today, cast it at His feet, and let Him work.  Sometimes God is waiting for us to give it to Him and GET OUT OF HIS WAY, and then He begins to work in ways that we cant even imagine.  What is it that you are carrying today? We all have something that God wants us to lay at His feet.
