Food for thought…Delusions

We have a lot of delusions that people are believing in our day. I had a Christmas cd playing as I was getting the  thanksgiving meal ready yesterday. I know it’s early but “I’m one of those people!” Lol so as I am listening I hear songs about a snowman coming to life and a reindeer whose nose glows and I chuckle to myself at the absurdity. Yet we sing along and sadly our little ones believe these gentle lies because we tell them to. All the while the story of the cross of Christ is rejected. We would rather sing of a red suited man who knows all you’ve ever done and has a good list and a bad list to tell him which present you will receive. But we will not believe in Christ. When we will not grasp the truth what alternative do you have to hold on to? A lie or falsehood no matter how it is painted up is still a lie.

A man had brought two friends to hear Ravi Zacharias one night.  Afterwards they were talking. The friends of the man were atheists and said they could not contradict what Ravi had said but would rather choose to remain atheists because it’s what they prefer. What? After hearing the truth they still chose to live and believe in a lie because it was comfortable and normal to them. Sadly this type of thing rings true in our society. Change is difficult especially if you have been in a set way of thinking for some time but that doesn’t mean truth shouldn’t be embraced and followed just because it will be difficult. No, it will be worth it. You can walk away from the truth and remain as you are and still be as miserable as you’ve always been or you can let all the baggage go and start fresh. But the lies and excuses must go. 2 Thessalonians 2:3 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come , except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;”
