Food for thought….God Knows Your Needs

Last week I taught a ladies bible study in the book of 2 Timothy.  I love the relationship that Paul and Timothy had.  Paul was at the end of his life, about to be executed for his faith, yet his concern is for his “beloved son” Timothy.  Paul and Timothy served together in Ephesus, Paul goes on to Macedonia but tells Timothy to stay in Ephesus.  Timothy was growing wearing in the ministry, so we see Paul come alongside him and encourage him to continue in his race.

This is what was really neat about this section of scripture….”when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded that it is in you also. 2 Timothy 1:5

Timothy’s father was a Greek and his mother a Jew.  Bible teachers believe that Timothy’s father was an unbeliever.  But what I love is that although his father was not there to teach and train him in the faith, God brought Paul into Timothy’s life.  Paul treated Timothy like a son, he referred to him as a “beloved son.”

God knows our every need, He knows the desires of our hearts, and He works all things to the good in our lives.  I trust that God knows my needs better than I do, I trust that his plans for me are perfect, and I trust that He loves me beyond what I can imagine.

Think of this scripture…”Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone?  Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!…” Matthew 7:10.  Ladies, are you in need? Ask God.  He desires to give us gifts.  Paul was a gift to Timothy, and Timothy needed Paul.  God has gifts in store for you when you ask Him and trust that He knows all of your needs.
