Food for thought…He already knows

god knows

As I was reading in the book of John, I read about the man who was healed at the pool of Bethesda.  Consider this part of the chapter…
“Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.  When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him “do you want to be made well?”

What amazed me about this scripture is that it says He knew that the man had been in that condition for a long time.  He tells Jesus that he wants to be made well, and Jesus heals him.

You see sisters, He knows the condition of our hearts, he knows the condition of our physical being, he knows the condition of our lives.  He knows the trials that you are in, the pain that you feel, the strongholds that anchor your life and mine.  He wants to be our Healer, our Redeemer, the one who restores our lives.  He asks this man if he wants to be healed and He is faithful to heal him.

My kids never ask for help.  Instead, they will cry.  My son Jacob has a hard time tying his shoes.  It takes him a long time.  We were headed to my mom’s house and all of the kids were in the car except Jacob.  I couldnt find him anywhere.  I was calling his name and there was no response.  Finally, I heard a noise coming from behind the couch.  I found him, silently crying with tears running down his cheeks because he couldnt get his shoes tied.  I explained… “Jacob, all you had to do was ask me and I would have helped you.”

Sometimes, we go through trials and hardships and we silently cry, we are silently heartbroken.  Like the man that Jesus healed, He knows your condition.  He sees each tear that you cry. He understands your hardships and He wants to restore you.  Cry out to Jesus today, let His mighty hand comfort you, bring you peace, and restore your soul.

Here is a song that I love about our trials, weariness, and pain..yet there is healing, grace, and mercy: Listen here
