Food for Thought…..I can only imagine!

 imagine

I love the song, “I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe.  The lyrics read,

“I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk, by your side
I can only imagine what my eyes will see
When you face is before me
I can only imagine
Surrounded by your glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus
Or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine.”

Have you ever wondered what it will be like when we come face to face with our Creator?

Ezekiel saw visions of God, and described God’s presence as “A fire that is infolding itself,” “brightness all around,” “the color of amber,” and “like a rainbow on a cloud on a rainy day,” and the sounds of many waters.”  (Ezekiel 1:25-28)

What did Ezekiel do when he saw this?  Ezekiel 1 verse 28 says he fell on his face, and in chapter 2, he listens to God’s instructions.

John also saw a vision.  He also describes what he saw as, “White as snow,” “like a fire,” and “the sound of many waters.”

What did John do?  He “fell at His feet as if dead.”  (Revelation 1:17)

Are you ready to meet God if that time came today?  Are you listening and watching for Christ’s return?  Where are you in your walk today?  Maybe you’ve walked away from your faith or become lukewarm, or maybe you not sure what to believe.  Maybe you’re just going about your day, and not really listening for God’s instructions for your life.  It’s not too late!

If you’ve never received the Lord as your savior, Acts 3:19 says we need to “repent for our sins” and  Acts 16:31 says to “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.”

If you’ve walked away or your walk has become lukewarm, just ask for forgiveness and you’re forgiven!

Matthew 24:36 says that no one knows the day or the hour of Christ’s return.  Are you living your walk like every day may be the last?  Or are you banking on more time?  Be ready!  Can you imagine?!   What if that day is today?
