Food for thought….Not alone

One thing that I am always leery of is war on our home fronts. If you have read the news recently, it really can put you in a state of fearfulness.  As I was on Facebook yesterday, I read the title of an article called “Russia is preparing….but for what?” Obvious signs all point to the fact that they preparing for war.  So immediately I began to worry.

I am an avid news reader.  I like to know what is going on around us.  But at times it also can be daunting.  Sometimes it puts me into a fearful state of worrying about my children.  As I read the title of that article, fear came over me.  But the next picture on my Facebook wall was this……

How fitting! I am reminded of the scripture “In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” John 16:33

I absolutely love that scripture. My God created the world, every single thing that happens in my life and in the lives of my children first goes through the hands of the One who created life.  Ahhh, how alleviating to know that God is for us.  Fear paralyzes us, it causes us to doubt God and His faithfulness.

Through our deep waters, whatever they may be, God is with us.  We WILL all go through deep waters.  Think about this scripture:

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.
For I am the Lord your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

Isaiah 43:2-3

Notice that He says WHEN you pass through the waters, not IF you pass through the waters.  We WILL go through deep waters.  Each of us. But our God is with us, He adores us, and he sees our troubles.  It’s easy to feel alone in our trials, cry out to Jesus and rest assured that you are not alone in your pain and suffering.  The the sovereign God that rules the universe is on control of your life and mine, so we musn’t fear, rather trust.
