Food for thought…nothing can separate

nothing can separate us

There have been times in my Christian walk when I feel like throwing in the towel, when I feel like such a failure that I am ashamed to go before God.  Condemnation is destructive in our lives.  I have been in that place more than once, and it is a place that satan wants us to be.  There have been times that I feel like I am not worthy of God’s grace, so I wonder why God would even want to use me.

This is what we don’t understand…..God’s love does not change toward us.  He loves you the same as He loves me, the same as He loves Paul the apostle, the same as He loves George Mueller.  There is nothing we can do to earn His love or His favor.  We cant imagine that because our flesh nature does not react in that way.  When someone hurts us, we put up a wall between them and ourselves.  When someone lies, we don’t trust them anymore.  When someone ignores us, we ignore them.  That is not so with God.  When we hurt Him, He loves us still.  When we lie, He forgives us and casts our sins far from us and He remembers them no more.  When we ignore Him, His still small voice reminds us that He is still there.

There are times that we feel as though we are in a dry place with God, when we feel as though we don’t hear His voice. But we must remember that nothing can separate us from His love.  Think of this scripture “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

How sweet it is to know that God loves us beyond our faults and our sins, He sees us as perfect because of the blood of His precious son.  There is nothing I can do that will ever separate me from His unfailing love. Thank you God that you chose me, the sinner that I am, and yet you still love me beyond measure.
