Food for thought…our lives should reflect the character of Christ

My friend Deb sent me this a few days ago.  I just got around to reading it, and I loved it.  It challenged me.  There is a store near my house that is owned by Mennonites.  Every time that I walk in there, I am greeting with a huge smile, and warm, sweet people.  My sister-in-law noticed the same thing.  They are so friendly and kind, so she told them that she loves going there and being greeted by such warm people.  The man responded with this “when you have Jesus, there is no reason to be in a bad mood” How true.  Our lives should be reflecting the character and love of our Savior, that is what we are here for. Here is what Deb wrote:

“Rather, let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.” 1 Peter 3:4

As my thoughts unravel, all that I keep thinking is…brash, loud, busy, frazzled, impatient.

Then I wonder…

What do people see when they look at me?
What do my children see?
Ultimately….what does God see?

Our lives should reflect the character of Christ.  We are called to be a light to the world around us.  We are chosen for a purpose.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control” Galatians 5:22-23

This is what I desire as the craziness of this life unfolds around me.  I want to be like Christ.  I want to suffer those areas to His healing touch, allowing my countenance to be chiseled into who He wants me to be.

Please mold me and make me more like You Jesus.
