Food for thought…OUR responsibility

Does the Bible tell us that it is Christianity is easy? Not at all.  Simple, yes, it is simple.  But easy? No.

The moment we accept His perfect gift that He gave upon Calvary, our life is no longer our own.  Our life is no longer about us.  With that, comes great responsibility.  I can still remember the words of my mother to me when I was a young spoiled brat, she would said “with freedom comes responsibility”.  She would say “I’ll give you freedom but you must give me responsibility”.  That objective should be applied to our lives as believers as well.  Through the blood of Jesus we have freedom.  Freedom from sin, freedom from the law, freedom from bondage, freedom from hell.  But with that comes responsibility, and we often overlook our duties as believers.

We are responsible to point people to Jesus, that is His great commission for us according to Matthew 28…Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

That seems like a high calling.  You’re right, it is.  It is of high importance.  So how do we make disciples of all nations?  We preach the gospel with boldness. We allow our lives to testify of God’s love in all that we do.  We remain faithful to our spouses and submit to them (happily).  We act as godly mothers who raise their children according to the Word of God.  We look, dress, and act in a way that is not conforming to the world.  These things dear sisters testify of God’s spirit CHANGING us.  These things cause unbelievers to ask questions.  These things open the doors for us to speak truth into people’s lives.  AND…these things ladies are things that you will be responsible for.

That is God’s calling in the life of EVERY believer.  He has given us freedom through the death of His precious son, in return we must be responsible to heed His great commission.
