Food for thought….Trusting Faith

By now you’ve realized that I am making my way through a book by Corrie Ten Boom and it is too powerful for words. The transformation that occurred in her life that brought her from hate and contempt for the German people to love and compassion is nothing short of a miracle. A miracle that could only be possible by the love of Christ. Corrie’s flesh wanted to return to holland after her release from Ravensbruck but she knew that her life had to fulfill another path. She set out on a journey that was order by The Lord and walked by a humble heart that at times had it’s misgivings but would trust in His plans. As I sit here and consider how she was able to go far beyond human strength and capabilities because her strength was not her own, it was God’s. Her faith to follow God so passionately stirs my heart to seek God more.

Am I as desperate for the Lords daily bread as I am a bagel? Where do I think my sustaining strength comes from? Certainly not my own resolve because at times that fails! Lord, as Amanda cook sings: “you make me brave. You make me brave. You call me out beyond the shore into the waves. You make me brave. You make me brave. No fear can hinder now the promises you’ve made…” Lord, I pray for that kind of trusting faith over my brothers and sisters today. A faith that walks out when rationality says no. A faith that will stand when resolve has fallen. A faith that moves mountains not doubts your words! Lord,…like the upper room experience,…make us BRAVE!!!! Acts 4:31″And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”
